Pitched up at the estuary just as the tide had filled in enough to sail. It was looking pretty windy and the forecast was for gales and rain so I opted for the smallest I'd got as it's a trawl back to the car once you get upwind.

Straight away I was powered up as I made my way upwind to the Estuary mouth. The wind direction was such that there was only a small wind shadow on the E side of the river mouth. The wind picked up to the point that I was completely out of control in the gybes but getting some big port tack jumps off the waves. The waves were to much into wind to try loops regardless of the fact that it was gusting F9!!

The downwind reaches back to the car were seriously scary combined with the rain lashing down so hard it was difficult to keep my eyes open. Good session but this must be the 8th time in the last 2 months that I've either been overpowered on my 4.1 or not gone out because it's too windy. Maybe I need to get a 3.7
